What Is LED Light?

The LED light is also called LED light emitting diode, which is a solid-state semiconductor device that converts electrically converted into light. The main body of the LED is a semiconductor wafer.  The wafer is attached to a bracket with one end of the positive electrode while the other end is a negative electrode for the power supply.  When the entire wafer is encapsulated by the epoxy resin, the LED lamp is formed.

               

The semiconductor wafer consists of two parts, part of the P (hole type semiconductor) type semiconductor, which dominates in it. And the other part is an n-type semiconductor, mainly electrons herein.  When the two semiconductors are connected, they form a PN junction (binding), the juncture. When the current acts on this wafer through the wire, the electron will be pushed to the P area and the electron recombine with holes in the P area. And then the energy is emitted in the form of photons, which is the theory of LED luminescence.  The wavelength of the light is also the color of the light, which is determined by the material forming the p-n junction.

 

          

People understood the basic knowledge of the semiconductor material 50 years ago.  The first commercial diode was produced in 1960.  LED is the abbreviation for Light Emitting Diode (LED), which is an electron-emitting semiconductor material for the basic infrastructure.  It is placed on a lead – free shelf, and then sealed with the epoxy resin to protect the internal core wire.  Therefore, the anti-seismic performance of the LED is good.

The LED light is a new technique that has been developed from the mid-20th century.  As the light-emitting process does not generate heat, the energy conversion efficiency is close to 100%.  The long service life is the development direction for the future lighting technology.
